NJB Referee Registration and Clinic Information
2006-2007 Referee Registration is now open! This year, we are using a different registration system. You will have to create a new account with NJB and register for the first time on this new system. The registration process is straightforward and simple!

To get started, click on "Referee Registration" to the left or click here.
NOTE: Everyone is a new member, so click on "New Member" to create an account!

Please help recruit as many potential referees as possible.

Please make sure you select the right fee option:

Winter Divisional - For refs working in local Winter Divisional games only.

Winter Divisional/League & Tournaments - For Refs working in local Winter Divisional games and they are rated high enough to work All-Net/Spring/Summer/Fall and NJB Tournaments.

Winter All-Net Elite Registration will not be available until early-October, when the tryouts have been completed. Go ahead and register now, and if you are selected for the winter All-Net Elite crew, the difference in your registration fee will be refunded.

New Availability Forms are posted on the web periodically. Please complete and KEEP A COPY FOR YOURSELF, so you know what you have submitted! IF YOU HAVE CHANGES IN YOUR SCHEDULE, PLEASE SEND IN AN EMAIL TO CHANGE YOUR AVAILABILITY! DO NOT SEND ANOTHER AVAILABILITY FORM, JUST AN EMAIL.

    General Information
National Junior Basketball, headquartered at the American Sports Center in Anaheim, CA., operates "year round" basketball leagues, and approximately 30 tournaments per year. While the majority of these games take place in Southern California, we have leagues and host tournaments in Hawaii, Missouri, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, and Northern California. NJB employs over 800 referees each basketball season, working Youth, Clinic, All Net, High School, Best in the West, Club, Elite, Stars, Adult Leagues, and Tournament games, totaling approximately 10,000 games.

Our "Championship Series" in February played over three weekends is one of the largest Youth Basketball tournaments in the Nation, with over 750 teams competing last year.

Our National All-Net and National All-Star Tournaments each spring hosts teams from Hawaii, Missouri, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and a huge number of teams from Northern California.

During these tournaments and throughout the year, NJB utilizes facilities such as The Anaheim Arrowhead Pond, The UC Irvine Bren Center, The CSU Long Beach Pyramid, The Anaheim Convention Center, Cal Poly Pomona, Chapman University, Concordia University, Hope International University, Alliant International University, Orange Coast College, Mira Costa College, San Bernadino Valley College, Riverside City College, Rio Hondo College, Palomar College and numerous other top high school courts. The Staples Center in Los Angeles hosts an “NJB Clipper Night” once a year in which 3 games are played prior to the start of a Los Angeles Clippers game and a special ceremony is held during halftime.

We utilize "two crew mechanics" on all of our games (except clinics), and utilize "three crew mechanics" for all Championship games, something that is rare for youth ball and makes our organization unique.

NJB is a great place for new, inexperienced refs to gain valuable court time and great training, by our fine staff of instructors and mentoring from our veteran officials. NJB is also a great place for those veteran officials who truly love the game of basketball and willingly put forth the same effort working a NJB game, as they would in working a college or high school contest.

NJB's game fees are very competitive with other youth or adult leagues, YMCA or Boys Club, and travel team tournaments. Pay rates range from $18 to $30 per game.

If you have further questions please contact Tyler Painter, National Referee Administrator. You can also call NJB at (714) 917-3582.
